I got a job!

Starting Monday, I'll be the "Manager of Inventory Services" at New Line Cinema. Yikes! I feel so under-qualified.

All layoffees, please let the rest of us know when you get a job.

If any of you are considering Countrywide, the Ventura County Star is reporting that the mortgage giant will be laying of 10% of its work force in response to the slowing real estate market:

In Simi Valley alone, there are three or four large Countrywide offices.

Anyone else having difficulty collecting unemployment?

A question to all my fellow Sept 23 layoffs...

Are you guys collecting unemployment insurance? Or am I the only one who hasn't yet found gainful employment elsewhere?

It's been two weeks since I applied for UI, and I haven't seen a check yet. They're giving me a lot of hoops to jump through. First I had to do the online application, then I had to post my resume on the CalJobs website, now they're saying I have to go in for an interview at the end of the month. Still no word on when I start getting my money.

I've never collected before... is this normal? Any advice would be appreciated.
